Clinical applicationIt is mainly used as a decoction for water retention, gonorrhea, antidiarrheal, clear-eyed, expectorant and antitussive. It is used in a few prescriptions for urinary tract diseases. It is also used as a raw material for compound medicine (antitussive expectorant), but it is contraindicated for pregnant women because it is a lubricant and excretory.
