Clinical application | As a diuretic and drastic purgation, Gansui is applied for edema, abdominal distention and chest pain. It is also used for ascites due to pleurisy and later stage of schistosomiasis japonica. In Chinese traditional medicine, it is said to be a sacred medicine for purging away retained fluid, as well as daji. Gansui is contraindicated for person with delicate constitution and pregnant women. |
