RemarksArctostaphylos uva-ursi (Jap. name: Kumakokemomo) is produced in Europe (Alps), Norway, North part of USA and Canada. The leaves of A. uva-ursi have been used by Vienna school since 18th century. In 19th century, each country started to list A. uva-ursi in its pharmacopoeia. In Japan, it has been listed in the Japanese Pharmacopoeia from the first (1886) to the present edition (C1). In Germany, tea and plant preparations of it are found in the market. These preparations must not be used with the drugs that cause acidic urine (C3).
