There are many defectives and fakes. Daigyo (大艽) and Kokudaigyo (黒大艽), produced in Inner Mongolia, are the roots of Aconitum unbrosum Komarov or A. sibiricum Poir. of family Ranunculaceae. Their roots twist like a qualified Jingyo. Koujingyo, produced in Sichuan Prov., is the root of Salvia przewalskii Maxim. of family Labiatae. Korean Jingyō is the root of Aconitum loczyanum Rapaics of family Ranunculaceae. Wajingyo, distributed in Japan in the past, was the root of Pulsatilla cerunua (Thunb. ex Murray) Bercht. et Opiz. of family Ranunculaceae (Jap. Name: Okinagusa), and it was fake.
