RemarksIt is a Japanese folk medicine. The history of the medicinal use is very short. There was a report in 1925, which said that the infusion of leaves of so called "Shirakashi (Urajirogashi)" has a significant effect on gallstone. After 1958, it was proved experimentally that "Urajirogashi" has effects of litholysis in vivo and inhibition of stone formation.
