| Description | Features: An annual hairy plant, with marigold type flowers - pale-rose having yellowish centre. Roots long, finger like thick. Cylindrical and tapering, having some hair like rootlets. Externally the root is rough, shrivelled surface, compact but brittle. Odour - aromatic; taste - pungent. On chewing it gives a tingling sensation to the tongue and lips and causes excessive flow of saliva. | |

| Description | Mostly the root of pellitory plant is used. The best pellitory is bitter in taste, irritant to tongue and throat. It is as thick as a finger. These are cut pieces of root which are upto four inches in length. The external surface is brownish and wrinkled. The taste is very sharp and irritant. On chewing it the saliva starts flowing from the mouth. | |||||
