Common uses | Head and heart: Sweet basil is considered as exhilarant and cardiotonic. The seeds are soaked in water and mixed with other syrups and then administered. It is useful in the weakness of the heart and palpitation. Its leaves on smelling remove fainting fit. Swellings: Its leaves after grinding are used as plaster for resolving inflammations. Excretion: The decoction of its leaves acts as diuretic and emmenagogue. Seeds are also given in urinary disorders, such as gonorrhoea/gonorrhea, scanty and scalting urine etc. | |||
